For the past two years I have been plodding along with a writing project–a series of essays about images of art and archaeology in cartoons and comic strips. Although I am still only a little more than half-way through my Art and Archaeology in the American Funny Pages, I thought that I would post now a section about art-themed pandemic humor that I have just finished. It forms a section of an essay on “Webcomics and Internet Memes” in Part I of my book, and, as such, does not really stand on its own. Nonetheless, I thought that readers might like to see this as the COVID-19 pandemic is still raging on.
