I think that I submitted this to the Boston Globe and/or to the Washington Post. In any case, it doesn’t seem to have been published; perhaps the irony of the last line was lost on the editors. For some reason I do not seem to have submitted this to my reliable local Keene Sentinel; perhaps I was already over the letter-to-the-editor limit for 2013!
