Where Do We Come From?  What Are We?  Where Are We Going?

Here is the third in the trilogy of memoirs after “Shiny Bits” and “Looking from Both Sides.”

  1. Thanks for sharing! I enjoy your writing even if I don’t feel quite up to responding on an intellectual level. I somehow thought you were over in the Barcelona part of Spain. I walked the Camino de Santiago last October. I took an extra day in Leon I could have dropped (short trip by train or bus) by for a Cafe con Leche or ColaCao, my beverage of choice on the walk. I too have been places and seen things since our brief time together in Doylestown. It is funny how as I approach 70 and the end of things how interested I am in how others have experienced their lives. There are so many stories to hear and less and less time to hear them. Plus for the most part people have learned to tell their stories better! Best wishes Tousey

    1. Tousey: Thanks for writing! I agree that as we approach the end of our seventh decade on this planet one naturally turns back to review the arc of one’s life, and one is curious to hear about the lives of friends from one’s youth.
I am sorry that we didn’t meet up when you walked the Camino. I do like Leon very much, although my heart is really in Asturias. (I did spend quite a lot of time in Barcelona in the mid-1990’s when I was digging at the Greek-Roman site of Empúries.) I have several ex-pat friends here in Oviedo who walked the Camino, but that is something that I’ve never done.
